Landlord Tenant- What happens when a Tenant dies during the Tenancy?
Written by Midtown Plaza Law Center on February 24, 2009Our landlords should be aware of recent changes in Landlord Tenant law. Section 130.1 of the Landlord Tenant Act was created to protect landlords in the case of the death of a tenant. This change may well necessitate an addendum to your current contracts and a change in all your new leasing procedures. If you were not aware of this law, you should update yourself by reviewing the change in legislation or feel free to contact our office for assistance in the creation of such documents.
